Bone-Cro

Problem Statement

Stress to the cartilage can cause degradations of sections of cartilage. Current methods are invasive, and have negative lasting effects. Our goal is to develop a robust method of attaching In-Vitro cartilage to bone to allow for the surgical repair of damaged cartilage in a way that is simple, minimally invasive, and will have the fewest long-term effects for the patient.

Constraints:

  • Minimize damage to the bone or cartilage
  • Eliminate risks to other parts of the body during surgery
  • Make tools small and easily manipulated
  • Ensure connection is sufficiently strong
