Tentative, "Faked" Images

  • Sometimes it's more effective to communicate with images. Images help people to visualize what our project will achieve.

Due to limiting funding, we began to narrow our ideas into three and decided to work on those.

1. Shadow Idea. Get the shadows of people on the street and project the shadows on the Cooper building.

2. Pseudo-interactive LED Idea. Program aesthetically pleasing shapes and display with LEDs on the Cooper building.

3. “Secret Image” Idea. Display an attractive image on the Cooper building with visible LEDs, but hide something surprising, unexpected shape with IR LEDs to surprise people when they take pictures with their cameras.

Later, however, we were advised that it would be better to focus on only one idea and work on that. There we chose the shadow idea and separated roles among the team members: Peter mainly worked on the programming, I worked on the actual design, resolutions and mock-ups, and Wojciech worked on the actual molds and circuits.
