After reviewing the QFD and DSM tutorials, we attempted to create a House of Quality Matrix. We found the House of Quality tutorial very interesting and applicable to the design process; however, we feel that we are not yet at the stage in our product development for the House of Quality Matrix to be useful. The Matrix compares our product to competitors’ products as well as to customer reviews. Since we don’t actually have a product yet, this part of the Matrix doesn’t really apply, and thus we cannot obtain numerical feedback from the Matrix. However, we do feel that the Matrix will be much more useful as we develop our product further, and we intend to revisit it.
