For our Introduction to Engineering Design class, our goal was to build a house in Somalia for refugees, using materials that could be found locally. Professor Toby Cumerbatch introduced RAMESSES: Reuse of Available Materials, Energy, Structures, and Supplies for Emergency Shelters. Throughout the year, our class designed and built a bamboo dome structure that we plan on presenting to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)
