March 2, 2012

3:00-4:00 p.m.

The entire group met in the automotive lab.
We tested Matt's black-light and we experimented with additional lighting via Kieth's study lamp.
From there we proceeded to discuss the up-coming presentation (what topics should we discuss, who should do what, etc.), which led to the formation of a presentation outline.
Lastly, we created an e-mail to Shaun Devitt, whose father works with the chemicals used by the fog machine and whom could answer some of our questions on the topic for us.

The group got together and presented our various sketches to each other and then we made a list of what we wanted to show to Prof. Wootton.

March 6, 2012

9:00-10:00 a.m.

We all met with Prof. Wootton and updated him on our previous tests with lighting.
We also talked about all of our current design ideas and asked for his feedback.
He suggested that we look into passive heating system and that if we could that an automated smoke positioning system would be better than a manual one.
Lastly, Prof. Wootton suggested talking to photography professors to better understand lighting
Also, he recommended that we call various smoke machine companies to check the designed temperature for our smoke machine.

March 27, 2012

9:00-9:30 a.m.

Kunsoo and Nick met with Prof. Wootton and updated him on their individual work so far--
i.e. research into piping and into a primitive positioning system, respectively.
They also discussed the bed and set up a meeting with the others for 7:00.

7:00-8:00 p.m.

Matt, Kunsoo, and Nick met and discussed the final idea for the bed, how it should be made, and how to split up the work.
Kunsoo was assigned creating the outer steel frame, the inner aluminum frame, and the linear motion rails.
Nick was assigned the cables, pulleys, mounting, and counter weight.
Keith was assigned the motor/controls and he linear actuator.
Lastly, Matt was assigned the job of putting everything together and animating it.
Each person was to contribute information on their parts and materials to the bill of materials.
