On the top left I have some ideas for sliding opening as opposed to a simple hinged lid.

At the top is the sketch for a hydraulic lid system that would be controlled using a button at the front.

In the middle is an idea for a removable tray-like cage that would have a small hinged lid.

On the bottom are initial designs for more the kinetic system elaborated on in the Kinetic Removal Sketch.
