======= Eric Ramos ======= I am currently studying mechanical engineering at The Cooper Union. This webpage is focused on my work for the iGEM team at Cooper, for the engineering design class EID 103 during the spring 2012 semester. The iGEM group aims at generating bacteria capable of producing quantum dots. In March of 2012, focus was given to designing a gel electrophoresis chamber for separating DNA that would be used in the lab. We were successful in designing and creating the prototype of this chamber in April, photos of which can be found on the front page of the iGEM wiki. ======EID 103 Assignments======= The following two links lead to projects done for the EID class. =====Sketches for EID====== Here, you can browse scans of the sketches assigned in the first few weeks of the class. * 1.) [[Assign1|Assignment 1]] :Project Sketches * 2.) [[Assign2|Assignment 2]] :Exercise Room Sketches =====CAD Models======= Here, you can look through some models created in the Rhino and Solidworks CAD programs. * 1.) Streaking is the process by which a certain bacterial colony is scooped by a looped rod, and scraped along the surface of an agar plate. This plate is then incubated to produce more colonies. * 1.)
