Under the guidance of Professor Wootton and Professor Lima of the Cooper Union, our team set out to develop a flow delivery system. Ultimately, our goal was to develop improvements that could allow for a visible and qualitative understanding of flow. ===Introductory Video=== Here is our brief introductory video: |Introductory Video| ===Problem Statement=== The current wind tunnel does not allow immediate or three dimensional qualitative visuals. We aim to develop a system for flow visualization capable of displaying flow pathlines for two and three dimensional bodies. This system should be viewable to the naked eye. Furthermore, it should allow for extended analysis by capturing images of the flow in three dimensions. * In learning fluid dynamics it is useful to be able to visualize what is happening. This is accomplished to some extent by the current PIV system, but being able to see the effects in real time and with the naked eye would help even more. * Both the stream creation and lighting system will be considered and redesigned for optimal visibility. * We will be working with Dr. Wootton of the Cooper Union. He has tasked us with making this system. * The finished product, at the end of this semester, will be a working system that will allow students learning fluid dynamics and project teams looking to optimize aerodynamic perfomance, to easily and effectively visualize flow. ==== Team Members and Individual Work ==== ||||| |Kunsoo Yuk|Nicholas Mitchell|Keith Caskey|Matt Schoen| |ME2015|ME2015|ME2015|ME2012| |Kunsoo's Sketches|Nicholas Sketches|Keith's Sketches|Matt's Sketches| |Kunsoo's Duck|Nicholas's Ducky|Keith's Ducky|Matt's Duck| |Kunsoo's Car|Nicholas's Racecar|Keith's Racecar|Matt's Race Car| |Kunsoo's Camaro|Nicholas's Camaro|Keith's Camaro|Matt's Camaro| ====Our Progress==== ===Timeline=== ===Testing=== Click the following link to watch our initial testing: Testing ===Prototypes=== Click the following link to view our first generation of prototypes: Prototypes ====Additional Projects==== ===Drawbot=== The Drawbot Competition was held on April 20th, 2012. Each team in the EID 103: Principles of Design class set out to use two stepper motors to create a drawing device.A triangular template was printed, and each group's machine was to draw out a triangle by remaining within the lines. Ultimately, each group was to utilize two stepper motors, an Arduino, a motor shield, and some pen mount. The aim of such a bed was to increase living space and convenience. Our team created a design with the following bill of materials: Click the below links to learn more about our design: FV's Rising Bed: An Animated Video Download Link : ==== Schedule ==== ^ ^ Monday ^ Tuesday ^ Wednesday ^ Thursday ^ Friday ^ ^9:00| KRC | | KSY,NJM,KRC | KSY,NJM,KRC |KSY,NJM | ^10:00| KRC | | KSY,NJM,KRC,MRS | KSY,NJM,KRC |KSY,NJM | ^11:00| KSY,NJM,KRC | KSY,NJM | MRS | NJM,KRC |KSY,NJM,KRC| ^12:00| KSY,NJM,KRC | | MRS | NJM,KRC |KSY,NJM,KRC| ^1:00| NJM | | NJM | | | ^2:00| NJM,KRC,MRS | KRC | NJM | KSY,NJM,KRC,MRS |KSY,NJM,KRC,MRS| ^3:00| KSY,NJM,KRC,MRS | KRC | KSY,NJM | KSY,NJM,KRC,MRS | | ^4:00| KSY NJM,KRC,MRS | NJM KRC | KSY,NJM | KSY,NJM,MRS | | ^5:00| | | KSY,NJM | | | ^6:00| KSY,MRS | KRC | KSY | KSY,NJM,KRC,MRS | | ^7:00| KSY,MRS | KRC | KSY | KSY,NJM,KRC,MRS | | ^8:00| MRS | | MEETING | MEETING | | ^9:00| | | MEETING | MEETING | | ==== Minutes ==== January February March April
